Is there something fundamental that breaks when information is allowed to be destroyed?


Wouldn't that prevent time from going in reverse?


Isn't the growth of entropy preventing this already at the macro scale? Isn't it similar to the loss of information, because it's a transition from a less-probable state to a more-probable state?


I mean essentially, quantum physics only works if information can't be destroyed.


I mean, yes, things like The Arrow of Time, Entropy, our entire understanding of black holes, most of quantum mechanics.

Yeah, if information can be destroyed then a lot of physics needs to be redone.
