The Vice that everybody knows and loves makes YouTube videos about food, drugs, and foreign affairs…

I don’t have the solution to this, but it’s not paying journalists to write fucking blog posts that no one reads.

Vice is too large, too many services, too much ownership.

I remember what Vice used to be.

Go woke, go broke.

Is there much to mourn here as far as quality of content and journalism goes?

Yes. Vice reported from Xinjiang, for example. They did a video on forced russification of Ukrainian children reporting from inside Russia.

Wasn't all that debunked? Pretty sure Vice got here from years of blatant propaganda for the corporate industrial complex. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I have not seen it debunked. I have seen tankies trying to say that “re-education camps” don’t exist, those camps are really just voluntary job training centers and that Muslims deserve it anyway.

There was so much coming out of vice that it’s hard to paint the whole company as a poor journalistic endeavor. Yes, some was bad. Some was good. It seems all media corps go that way in the end
