Happy to see that I'm not the only one in this camp. I don't see the need for such Pixel density on the Mac 13inch laptops. What a waste of resources. In fact, am happy with a 1080p matte display.


The bigger issue is that if you're lucky with 1080p, you'll get 100% sRGB coverage. In a world where many phones and tablets support DCI-P3 why would I want or expect less pixels and less color gamut coverage with a laptop that generally cost more?


Ok. I can't discern that much of a difference in color or FWIW I don't even know what is DCI-P3. My work is mostly coding and email. So 1080P seems fine. I can't imagine the insane battery life you can get from current batteries, for a 1080p laptop display.


I use the same machine for code as well as photography so color accuracy and depth is something I value
