The "parked trailer" description is confusing.

This is not a sensor failure, a sensor just clearly is NOT on the roof forward to measure object height in close-contact situations.



This could easily have been a garage door. And in Tesla's own words, Summon can be used to park in a garage, and handle opening and closing the garage door.

It may not be a sensor failure, but for Tesla's advertised (and this) use case, it definitely is a _design_ failure.


The bottom of my garage door is rubber. I'd expect little to no damage.


If the car couldn't sense it to avoid it in the first place, what makes you think it's going to stop when it hits your door, versus continuing on plowing through?
