this is the kind of advice you need and takes months or years to understand when you are starting out running a club or associative project and yes p much goes for all coordination effort
American here; studied and lived in France and participated in some big protests there. The US just doesn't have the protest/strike culture that Europe has, it's not part of our tradition; the majority of people don't even know how or understand the implications...Also most cities in the US are built for cars , not pedestrians and people on the street.
I am using a raspberry pi and a two axis turret with a pump and reservoir from a car windshield sprayer. right now it's just using differences in pixels to detect movement, by it it's keeping the balcony pigeon free! (a few false positives when a bumble bee flies too close to the camera though) I also have a yolo model version but haven't implemented it yet !
Cool! Do you have the STLs of the turret online somewhere?
My setup also had its occasional false positives but that’s not a problem if all you do is spray a bit of water around. I also looked into yolo, but I couldn’t find any good datasets of pigeons. Nowadays that’s no problem anymore as you can just use models like meta’s segment anything that do zero-shot bounding boxes… if you have the GPU to run it.
Louisiana is so historically corrupt : meta chose Louisiana because they can pretty much do what they want and the parishes (counties) like Richland where this is being built are so poor they couldnt care less about any environmental or quality of life setbacks. as a reminder , Louisiana is home to the cancer alley.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cancer_Alley
