Flatpak is great for installing, but as a happy Aurora user, it’s annoying and it breaks things all the time. Every desktop app i use has some broken feature. Sandboxes as another permissions panel suck. Simple browser-like permissions that allow prompted overwrite would be WAY better!
Now i have media organizer programs that deletes my files if i try to write on a networked drive. Games that can’t see the controller. Chat apps that can’t see attachments. Music app that can’t save at all. Good luck accessing any binary and using it in a script.
It sucks how much of the world is built by people who glorify putting in 6 days and 4 nights a week, then put that effort towards stuff like Facebook. It’s so uncool to be critical thinking at all with these types. Accept the mission statement at face value and get paid.

Aurora OS and Bazzite. Flathub crap happens, but I’ve never had so much confidence in my Linux machine. It has the windows or Mac quality that i can trust it to boot into a real desktop environment after any update. No more booting to a broken terminal session with no means of googling or real recovery

Subscription services get all the same benefits from computer hardware getting better. But actually due to scale, batching, resource utilization, they'll always be able to take more advantage of that.
